This project is commissioned by Rijkslab, the innovation lab of the Rijksmuseum. Rijkslab wanted to work on the inclusivity and accessibility of all visitors, the engagement of new audiences with new perspectives and business models, and the enrichment of the collection - since only 1 percent is visible in the building.
Within this scope, our aim was to make a visit more meaningful by allowing visitors to emphasize with the stories and world behind the artworks. To achieve this, we designed RIJKS Uncovered, a personal experience after your visit in which a collection of hidden artworks from the depot is shown while engaging in a conversation with the age-old artist behind the work. The collection is compiled based on personal data gathered during the visit by utilizing the existing ecosystem. As visitor, you have the option to engage in the offline experience in a physical RIJKS Uncovered booth at the Rijksmuseum, or to experience it at home via the Rijksmuseum app.
This project is a result of the Industrial Design Engineering bachelor elective course 'Designing Connected Experiences' - awarded with a 9/10
