This project involved analyzing and designing interactions in a specific context, in my case the Art Library Rotterdam. By contextual and qualitative research I found that many art lenders have a hard time creating a connection with their borrowed artwork, which goes beyond the degree of beauty.
I came up with the Explore Kit, a toolkit designed to encourage new members of the Art Library Rotterdam to explore their personal connection with their artwork at home - in a supportive, liberating, intimate, energizing and surprising way. By exploring the effects of my tools iteratively, I designed the set of tools in such a way that it enabled art lenders to explore the artwork from different perspectives in the way they wanted.
Eventually, using the Explore Kit enabled art lenders to create a more meaningful personal connection with the artwork. The long-term effect I was aiming for was to make art lenders learn to see artworks in a different ways, creating even stronger bonds with artworks - without the help of the Explore Kit.
This project is a result of the Design for Interaction master course 'Exploring Interactions' - awarded with a 8.5/10
