How do ballroom dancers in Rotterdam live their life? What are their values, norms and dreams? The aim of this project was to research a specific community and design something that complements and enriches their lifestyle.
By emerging in the daily activities of ballroom dancers and conducting in-depth interviews, it became clear that the transition between the balls they competed in and everyday life was far from smooth. We designed a self-care box to cool down after a ball to feel prepared for the real world, while maintaining your confidence from the balls. The box guided them through three stages: reliving the dream of the balls, reflecting and learning from experiences by personal questions on the masks, and finally refocusing on their daily life.
